Hi, I wasnt able to pass the April exam. Does it make sense to retake the test in Oct given I dont have the material for the two new chapters? Pl advise.
-Do start preparing 5–6 months in advance, factoring in some periods of slack, delay & absence. It is not possible to clear the exam with just 1 month of preparation (at least in your first attempt).
-The course is vast & very detailed. If it feels overwhelming initially, simply read through the chapters and you’ll soon get a hang of it.
-Some of the concepts are foundational & these topics keep recurring through the chapters. It helped me to make self-notes — which provided me a consolidated view of each topic, and also made revising easy & efficient (especially with all the last-minute jitters).
-In case you’re attending the group classes/sessions, try reading the topics/sections before & after the class. It will not only help strengthen your understanding in real-time, but also empower you to move forward to more complex topics & applications.
-Don’t forget to prepare for the actual test — it’s 4 hours long and can get exhausting. I would highly recommend reviewing the test responses in sections/intervals (say 30 Q or 60 mins), while making notes throughout, instead of revisiting the entire test in one go at the end. You’re not just fatigued, but also not in the best state of mind to do it justice.
